To whom it may concern, In early 1997 the Greene County Medical Society decided to typeset our monthly publication, the Bulletin, in-house. Prior to that decision the cost to typeset the Bulletin was very high and the vendor was having difficulty unbundling the cost of the typesetting from the cost of the printing. In addition, the quality of the publication suffered due to circumstances beyond our control. We began to work with Executive Data Control in the Spring of that year. Executive Data Control provided training and technical support to help us produce the Bulletin in a completely digital format. They often worked as representatives of GCMS with some of our advertiser's during the transition to this digital format. They also took bids from various printers and helped us understand the cost and quality trade-off inherent in different methods of print production. Finally, they managed the technical aspects of print production freeing us to focus on the content and design. We now have complete control over the layout and content of the Bulletin. The many letters we have received from readers complementing the improved Bulletin are testaments to our success. In fact the quality of our publication has drawn attention from several other medical societies throughout the state. Representatives from the Cape Girardeau area medical society visited us to see how we produced the Bulletin. We also shared information by phone with the Kansas City area medical society, who was also impressed with the quality of our publication. I attribute the quality improvement to Executive Data Control. Not only have they saved us much time and effort, but they have shared extensive knowledge and tools with us that have enabled us to produce a publication of which we are extremely proud. I have found Executive Data Control to be very honest and open. When we have had quality issues with a job they own their responsibility, inform us of any breakdowns, and handle the problem quickly and to our complete satisfaction. I searched for months to find a vendor willing to work with us to achieve our goal of typesetting the Bulletin ourselves.
